This is a professional teeth whitening procedure. Although most natural teeth can benefit from a teeth whitening treatment, everyones teeth are different and the results will vary.People with yellowish teeth generally receive the best results. Greyish tint caused from tetracycline or fluorosis will be difficult to whiten. Artificial teeth, caps, crowns, veneers, porcelain, composite or other restorative materials shouldn't expect dramatic results from this treatment since the peroxide gel will not whiten or damage artificial dental work. Also teeth can NEVER get whiter than the color your genes naturally allow.
Although its uncommon, some clients may experience tooth sensitivity during the first 24 hours. If you have recently or currently have the following we recommend avoiding this service until the situation has been taken care of by your dentist: cracked teeth, micro-cracks, open cavities, leaking filings, exposed roots or other dental conditions that cause sensitivity.
Clients may develop white spots or streaks on their teeth due to calcium deposits that naturally occur in teeth. These spots or streaks are NOT caused by the peroxide gel. The gel brings the already existing calcium deposits out and makes them visible again. These usually diminish over time.
After the treatment, it is natural for teeth color to regress somewhat over time. This is natural and should be very gradual, but it can be accelerated by exposing the teeth to various staining agents, such as coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine, colas, etc. For the first hour after your treatment you should focus on only consuming water. The gel opens the pores of the enamel and makes the teeth very vulnerable to staining agents. After 24 hours you can resume your normal routine but keep in mind, teeth whitening treatments are not meant to be permanent and that secondary, repeat or touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired color.
